Meadow Springs FarmMeadow Springs Farm is located at 5560 Frazeysburg Road, Nashport, Ohio and is just five miles north of downtown Zanesville. The property was bequeathed to the Muskingum Valley Park District by Miss Bernice Delong for the establishment of Meadow Springs Farm “. . . as an agricultural, conservation, and environmental education farm” and as “a perpetual facility for teaching conservation and sound farming practices”.

The farm is a mix of cropland, pastureland, and forest lands. The farm also includes two houses and multiple farm buildings. Owl Creek Conservancy holds a conservation easement on the property.

In 2011, the Muskingum Valley Park District Park Board of Park Commissioners contacted Richard E. Sorg, then District Program Administrator of the Muskingum Soil & Water Conservation District, regarding Meadow Springs Farm. The discussion revolved around the development of the property as an agricultural and environmental education facility fulfilling the wishes of Miss Delong. In response to this meeting, a series of meetings were held to which a cross section of local residents was invited. The Muskingum County Agricultural Interest Group (MCAIG) was formed to support the development of a long range plan for the farm under the leadership of Mr. Sorg. The mission of the MCAIG is connecting people with agriculture through sustainability, conservation, and education.
